Oops! Marker on Your Instrument? Here’s a Simple Fix!
Ever accidentally scribble permanent marker on your beloved instrument? Don’t panic! This happens to the best of us musicians. Here’s a quick and easy solution using a common household item:
So you need to know to remove permanent marker from your instrument?
The Magic of Wd-40. Find it in the video below!
WD-40 can work wonders on permanent marker stains on most instruments. Here’s how:
Gather your tools:
WD-40
Cotton swab
Clean, soft cloth
Test it first! Before applying to the stain, dab a small amount of WD-40 on an inconspicuous area of your instrument (like the back panel) to ensure it doesn’t damage the finish.
Gently tackle the stain: Dip a cotton swab or spray WD-40 on a cloth and dab it lightly on the marker mark. Work in small circles, applying minimal pressure.
Patience is key: Repeat dabbing with a clean side of the cotton swab until the marker fades. This might take a few passes.
Wipe it clean: Once the stain is gone, dampen your soft cloth with clean water (maybe add just a drop of Dawn) and wipe the area to remove any vinegar residue.
Important Note: This method is generally safe for most instrument finishes. However, it’s always a good idea to check your instrument’s care instructions or consult a professional for delicate finishes.
